While there were no injuries reported from the shooting, police said a robbery victim suffered minor injuries from an assault. They believe it was a targeted incident and that two suspects had fled from the area on foot.

The shooting response team later executed a search warrant with the help of 10 Division officers at an apartment at 40 Oxford St., which was believed to be associated with the shooting, and a police presence would remain there until the search was complete.

Yonis Mohamed was arrested on Saturday and charged with robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.

Police are still on the hunt for a Black male suspect who is believed to be in his mid-20s to early 30s, is about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and has an average build. He was wearing a dark blue sweater and dark pants at the time.

Watchdog probing police pursuit in Lindsay

The province’s police watchdog is investigating a vehicle pursuit that left a man and a woman with serious injuries from a crash on Sunday morning in Lindsay.

The Special Investigations Unit said a 21-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were hospitalized after a Kawartha Lakes Police officer responded to a 911 call for unknown trouble at about 3:30 a.m. in the Regent St.-Victoria Ave. area.

The SIU said the officer, who was driving a marked police cruiser, located a BMW of interest and stopped behind it. The vehicle fled, crashed into a parked vehicle a “short time later” and then landed on top of another vehicle in the Victoria- Glenelg St. W. area.
