The righty hurled four scoreless frame against the Rays. He allowed just three hits and struck out five without surrendering a walk. It was Skenes' fourth outing of the month and he boasts a 1.27 ERA in April.

Skenes' 0.91 WHIP ranks sixth among pitchers in the National League. He boasts a 3.27 ERA through five games and 22 innings pitched. The former Tiger experienced a rough start to 2026 as he failed to make it out of the first inning on opening day but since recovered.
2026 marks Skenes' third full season in the big leagues. The Pirates drafted him with the first overall pick in 2023 after he led the Tigers to the national championship. He won 2024 National League Rookie of the Year and made two starts in the All-Star game since his debut.
